My nine year old crossbread coon dog, Suzie-Q was given away out of a pick up truck in a parking lot in freezing weather, when she was 8 weeks old because "she ain't no good."
I loved that dog. I took her to see her vet in August, because she was really plumping out, only to find she had an aggressive tumor, was suffering in silence and showed no signs of illness. We held all 80 pounds of her while the vet put her down. I / we brought her home and buried her in her back yard, and she was the very best dog ever.
Suzie was friends with three inside cats and a husky for playpals, and a my child especially. Our husky was 12 and passed on in March, Susie went in August. The child went to college.
I have never not had a dog in my home. I am 55. I don't believe in hunting. I want a doggie to love, pet, feed, cuddle, cry on, get dog kisses from, brush, wash, and treasure. I did not pay for SuzieQ, but over nine years she wanted for nothing, she had her own couch, room, blankets, and a fenced in yard. She had sweatshirts, a coat for outside in the winter and I cry every ______ day cause I miss her so much.
I want another coon because she was so, so, so, sweet. You had to hold her when it thundered and I feel like I am dying inside without her. I can afford to feed and house and vet bills but not a large sum of money all at once to buy a dog so if someone has an unwanted doggie, I need to love one. All my animals were unwanted strays until I brought them home. I had both dogs from little puppies to the ends of their lives. My cats came all at once rescued from drowning and they are 8 years old. The child, now a young adult is an honor college student.
Can anyone help?
