"Poor Boy" answer to the high priced is a Black & Decker LEDLIB spot light you can buy at Wally World for around $50. (middle size) Comes in 3 different sizes and output. Super bright with a small beam. Light, easily carried in hunting vest or coat or there's a hole in handle so you can rig a sling. (Larger version is a little cumbersome but do-a-ble. Middle size best.) Rechargeable and holds charge a long time. Has dual brightness levels. Now, you want a light that is dim or colored for the coon to look, no problem. Go to auto supply and purchase a colored tail light lens that fits. A large rubber band holds lens in place. Guy that taught me this trick uses both red and yellow lens. Only negative is hunting alone, holding light and rifle to aim. NO, it's not the perfect coon hunting light, but it works and we're talking $'s here.
